"Gail Force Winds Set to Batter Britain” certainly wasn’t the headline team sport were looking to read ahead of Merrell’s 2015 Mountain Workshop weekend with ambassadors Jake Thompsett and Tracy McCartney.

However, heavy rain and winds of up to 50mph while atop the highest point in Southern England (Pen Y Fan – 998m) didn’t spoil our mood, nor that of some of the UK’s leading outdoors and fitness press. Attendees included The Great Outdoors, Outdoors Magic and BestFit Magazine.

An all adventure weekend comprised of hiking, trail running and bouldering was all based from a picturesque and traditional bunkhouse in the heart of the Brecon Beacons and provided the perfect opportunity to test Merrell’s latest models - the All Out Terra Trail and goat-inspired Capra Model.

Highlights of the weekend include:

- A wet but thoroughly enjoyable hike along Brecon’s highest 4 peaks

- An early morning trail run along the Taff trail (Cardiff to Brecon)

- A fun introduction to Bouldering

- A comprehensive Introduction to mountain skills, training and nutrition

However, the best news apart from the roaring log fire was the fact that there wasn't a single wet sock in sight due to Merrell's latest and greatest shoes.
